Parent University

It has been several months since I have visited and posted to my own blog. That is not to say that I have not been sharing my thoughts and ideas with my friends and colleagues, I have just been exploring different avenues to do so. Most of my time has been spent reading and sharing through Google Reader and my wikispace. Much of my reading revolves around technology, education and leadership. There are so many people out there doing so many different things and they seem to be able to utilize all of these tools simultaneously. I have not yet gotten to that point, but I hope to be able to come to a place where all of these tools converge into one happy medium.

Google Reader, Wikispaces, Facebook, Diigo, Twitter, Skype....the list of collaborative web tools is endless and new ones seem to emerge everyday. How can we utilize these tools in education to help our students be better prepared for the flat world they will face in the future? More importantly, how can we empower students to take more of an active role in their own learning?
